Borrowing Info

Get a Library Card

Any resident of California can register for a card free of charge at any of the three branches of the Santa Clarita Public Library. Out-of-state residents will be charged $5.00 for a card. Register in person with your photo ID or for a temporary card online. Online registrations are valid for 30 days and do not have borrowing privileges until the full library card is picked up in person. Photo ID must be presented and minors must have their parent or legal guardian present to pick up their library card.

ID required is either a valid driver’s license or DMV ID with your current address, or, if you don’t have a valid driver’s license or DMV ID, two pieces of identification, one that establishes your identity (preferably a government-issued identification) and something that also establishes your current address.

Parents must sign for children under the age of 18 and are responsible for all materials checked out on their cards.

You must have your library card to check out materials. We will provide a one-time courtesy look-up without the library card if photo ID is presented.

For questions about how to register for a library card, please email libraryinfo@santa-clarita.com
