Teen Programs
Programs for teens are designed to appeal to a wide range of interests. Find something that suits you from those listed here, and be sure to check our events calendar for others! There’s usually always something new!
Anime Clubs (Grades 7-12)
Attention Anime and Manga Otuku! Join us to explore, talk about, and preview new manga and anime. Enjoy Japanese snacks, participate in art projects, and learn about Japanese culture. Anime Clubs meet the 3rd Thursday of the month at Valencia Library; and the 4th Wednesday of the month at he Old Town Newhall Library.
Book Club – “Mocha and More” (Grades 7-12)
This is not your parents’ or grandparents’ book club! Join us the 3rd Friday, every other month, from 7-8 p.m., to discuss the latest hot YA titles at the Barnes & Noble on Valencia Blvd. Participants will be treated to a small drink from the café to enjoy during the discussion. Books can be checked out your local library, or can be purchased at B&N.

Book Trailer Video and Film Club (Grades 7-12)
A Cal Arts film graduate will lead participants in creating trailers for favorite YA books. Choose books, storyboard, film and edit. The finished products will be premiered at the last meeting – friends and family invited! The group will meet at the Canyon Country Jo Anne Darcy Library monthly, on the 3rd Wednesday of the month, beginning on February 20, from 4:-5:30 p.m.
Homework Help! Learn about tutoring, testing services and more @ your 24/7 library (Students in grades 7-12 and parents/caregivers)
Learn about online tutoring, practice tests, and library databases in this program sure to make you a better student. In the meeting room at Old Town Newhall Library: 1/23, 6:30-7:30 p.m.;
Valencia Library: 1/17, 7:00-8:00 p.m.; and Canyon Country Jo Anne Darcy Library: 1/29, 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Video Gaming (Grades 7-12 )
Join other video gaming fans to compete with. The library has a wide range of PS III and Wii Games to choose from. Held in the teen area of the Old Town Newhall Library weekly on Tuesdays (except holidays), from 3:30-5 p.m.
TAB – Stands for Teen Advisory Board (Grades 7-12)
Meet other teens from around the Santa Clarita area who love books and the library. Eat pizza! Have a say in young adult services at the library! Glean leadership skills AND earn volunteer service hours! Wow! Come into your local library to join, or sign up online to get on our email list. New members are always welcome! The TAB will meet the first Tuesday of each month during the school year (unless noted) at the Valencia Public Library.
