“Own the Night” Teen Reading Program

Teen readers simply log the titles they read and share a review and they are entered to win small prizes all summer long on the Summer Reading web site.  One lucky participant at each branch will receive an eReader as part of a random drawing, while all participants will enjoy an end of program celebration. Registration begins June 11th, 2012.

Teens take a survey about what services you would like to see in the library

Teen Advisory Board

Teens 13-17 have a say in your library and make it yours. We will meet monthly at the Valencia Library and you can help plan the events and activities you want to see in your library. Have a voice in the books, music, movies and magazines and other materials that the library will buy. Make new friends, eat snacks, and just have fun. Stop by your local library to sign up. The Teen Advisory Board will meet the first Tuesday of each month beginning September 6th.

Anime Club

Attention Anime and Manga Otaku! Join us at the library to explore the world of Anime and Manga. We will talk about and preview new manga, you can create your own art and comics, and treat yourself to Japanese snacks. Anime Club meets the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month at Canyon Country Library and the 3rd Thursday of the month at Valencia Library.

Book Club

Starting in October we will meet once a month to talk about the latest trends in teen novels, it is a great way to get together and talk about the books you want to read or books you have loved (or not) and why. At each meeting we will select a future month’s book.

Volunteering

Did you know that you can volunteer at the library? The Teen Advisory Board can count towards your community service hours as well as helping in the library.
